TA and TA3D compare

At least I`ve done, what noone done till today :D :D :D
Here`s the same map in TA3D and TA.
Resoluton are similar (1024x768).

As all can see, TA3D camera is a little closer, than in TA and thus units and buildings much bigger.

Well, at least we can see that exactly.

Suggestions are wellcome!

Yeah, the cam should be higher by default, well done Balthazar :)

Btw, this screenshot remembered me :

Fog of war areas are shown in black and white, I kinda liked this effect :)

Please zuzuf take that back in ta3d :)

well in fact TA3D's cam doesn't change when you change the resolution whereas TA's one is closer when in low resolution. This is due to gfx data being precalculated/prerendered whereas with OpenGL the cam screen is scaled to fit the real screen. Try in 640x480 and you'll understand.

But I agree, the cam is too close from the ground, I noticed that when playing with the defense.c script :D

Zuzuf, exactly! TA resolution increased by scaling all objects. But I find 1024x768 the best fit resolution for TA.

So we can use it as basic for TA3D camera height and so on :)

yes you're right 1024x768 is a good choice for playing TA. I will set the cam to get a similar view.
