Since we all have been bite in the ass by avatar setting restrictions (80x80 pix. and size) i suggest to add support for bigger avatars - such as 120x120 max and allow animated GIF with size, for example <=100 kb.

Let`s make it more fun :D

Because gif should be converted in apng, but till now i didn`t see a singe apng in the net. There are plenty gif avatars around, so why should we set 30 kb size as max? I wanted to ask about more variable avatars, but 120x120 with size 100kb is minimum that should be supported.

There is a simple reason why there is no apng on forums ... IE doesn't support it, it understands only gif as animated pictures. All modern browsers should support mng (animated png) but IE doesn't as usual

apng is backwards compatible with normal png decoders, and fully supported in fire fox 3 and Opera 9.5

Well, I`m using Avant Browser or sometimes Maxton. They are both based on IE, so apng won`t work for me ither.

try out firefox!! it has a very large plugin/extension base (ad blockers, network optimizers, ...), it reads almost all standards and is updated regularly.

In some countries it's more used than IE !!

I`ve tryed Opera, Firefox, Netscape, Maxton, Avant, IE and some others. Currently my favourite is Avant - fast, stable, functional. Why should I use something I don`t like?

Firefox have huge problems with many pages, filled with tables, fields for password enter and such - all looks kinda ugly for me. There some services, that I couldn`t use only because it is Firefox.

No guys, I`m not ready yet to use Firefox because it..it..it..just Firefox. Avant have all i need, and most of my friends, who ever tryed Avant - now using it. :D

I didn't say "use it" but "try it", there are lots of different browsers everywhere my favorites are Firefox and Konqueror (KDE's browser, Apple's Safari browser uses code from it) which is the first browser to have passed all the newest standards tests :D .

A clean forum is a happy forum. I do not like having forums filled with large animated monstrosities. I did change the settings however and they're fine for what's needed

Don`t see any reasons why size of avatars can`t be more than 24 kb :-/

The jumping cat is acceptable, the rest are both too large and too much, nevermind their filesizes.
