I've been playing a bit with SDL.
It's a powerful library, really easy to use and which doesn't need as many third parties libraries as Allegro (AllegroGL, jpgalleg for jpeg support, libs for ttf support, etc...).
I am considering replacing Allegro with SDL for 0.5.1 (not 0.5.0 since we're too close from having something we can release ). What do you think ?

I know i'm not a real C++ programmer but I am cool with it.zuzuf wrote:I've been playing a bit with SDL.

Anything to make Ta3d simpler to setup and compile.
One tiny little request, can it stay under tools or in libraries or somewhere convenient in a per platform subdirectory setup like has finally been stabilized for fmod, allegro etc.

Thank you, that would make it far simpler for those of us who don't live and breath this day in and day out. Also the fewer things integrated into the compiler the fewer things to go wrong.zuzuf wrote:if needed yes :)
