Re: Current beta packages
There are various Linux flavors out there ranging from source distributions you build yourself (Gentoo) to distributions for everyone (K/X/Ubuntu, Mandriva, SUSE,...). It's likely you'll find one that fits your needs (http://distrowatch.com/, http://www.kde.org/, http://www.gnome.org/). It's a bit c...
Re: r2802
Ok, I made a change that may fix 8, you'll have to test it again with next build
Re: r2802
No, I don't like breaking things. It should be easier to fix now since we're close to the revision which broke it.
NB: I cannot reproduce the bug , can you tell me what is the first package showing the problem ?

Re: r2802
Regarding 19 did you check your firewall ? I tested both on Linux and windows and I could register and login as usual.

Hi, welcome to the forums :). You're using TA3D 0.5.4 which is getting a bit old and unmaintained. I suggest you try TA3D 0.6 (which is almost stable). If you're running a Debian/Ubuntu or Mandriva Linux, the packages are in the repositories. If you're running windows there is no installer for TA3D ...

Re: New forum for translations :)
It doesn't really decipher, when TA3D has to display a string, it looks in a file for a translation. These files are in the resources/languages/ folder (http://trac.ta3d.org/browser/trunk/src/ta3d/resources/languages). Currently the Spanish translation file contains only the minimum. If you want to ...

I've made a small change to 3DMEditor : the rotation is controlled with a simple arcball implementation (you don't grab the part of the model under the cursor any more, it was too confusing). You'll find the new package here: ftp://downloads.ta3d.org/binaries/windows/dev/0.6/ It's built against Qt 4...

Making the height map from the geometry is easy, it's just a matter of rendering the geometry (OpenGL will produce a depth buffer which will be our height map). It's just not done yet. Could you send me an example of map created that way (I need something to test the code I'll write) ?

Re: Map in OBJ ?
That's an interesting idea. Currently TA3D won't open an OBJ file as a map and still requires a grid structure for the map (it uses a height map internally) but if one can generate the height map from geometry (actually you just need to render it into a buffer and keep the depth buffer) the it would...

Re: SupCom2

TA3D won't run a BOS script, it has to be compiled to COB first. If a COB script try to use an unknown byte code or an unknown function TA3D reports it in its log file. The "not supported" part of the message refers to stack-trace dump which worked only on Linux in 0.5 branch.
I am working on fixing bugs so I'll probably build new packages soon (last beta has a very annoying bug on windows).

If you set it to to be 3-12 you must decide how it behaves between 0-3 which would be a small coast line with no waves but we can't just cut the wave at 3 (well we can but the result would be rather sharp).
